Because every year "Law Students for Reproductive Justice" evolve into lawyers for reproductive justice. The RJ movement needs lawyers to stay involved, and we need a networking hub in order to do so. The Alumni Network provides a forum where new lawyers can mobilize, inform, and dialogue. We can pot luck, happy hour, and network. We can motivate, mentor, and educate. We can raise funds, change careers, and save lives—together.
Are you a flexible yoga instructor? A delicious cook? A rocking musician? An experienced crafter? Whatever your talents are, we want to know about them!
The Alumni Network Committee's Fundraising Sub-Committee is putting together a database of alums who have awesome talents that they would be willing to donate to the cause by teaching a benefit class for other LSRJ members, alums, friends, and allies who live nearby and could benefit from their expertise! You don't have to be recognized as a world expert - if it's something you do well, we're betting it's something other people will pay $5, $10, or even $20 to learn about or practice, especially when that money is going to a good cause! And if your talent is organizing events, and you'd like to organize a benefit event in your area - either with an LSRJ alum or a giving friend or contact of yours outside the organization - please email us about that too! In the coming months we'll try to work on matching people up and helping get a couple of these events started around the country, but for now we just want your information - there's no commitment made by sharing it.
So please share! Send your talent and/or interest in planning a benefit event to Kara Loewentheil, Fundraising Sub-Committee Co-Chair of the Alumni Network Committee, at karamia at gmail dot com!
Join our mailing list to receive our monthly Alumni Digests that include job and fellowship postings, pro bono opportunities, and information on LSRJ events in your area.
