In New York City, LSRJ members should plan to hear Eve Gartner (deputy director of the Public Policy, Litigation, and Law Department of Planned Parenthood Federation of America) speak about recent developments in South Dakota, particularly the Planned Parenthood v. Rounds decision and the upcoming ballot initiative banning most abortions on Thursday, July 31.  This lunch will take place from 1:00-2:00 pm in PPFA’s office located at 434 West 33rd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues.  The closest subway stop is 34th Street – Penn Station on the A, C, and E lines.

On Friday, August 1, Lilly Spitz (Chief Legal Counsel for Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California) will be joining us at the National Office in Oakland to discuss her work at PPAC, the evolution of her career, and recent Supreme Court decisions on reproductive rights law.  Lunch will start at noon.  LSRJ is located at 449 15th Street, Suite 304, Oakland, CA 94612.  The closest BART stop is 12th Street/Oakland City Center.
