With the Vagina Monologues! 

Last year the UC Hastings chapter organized the first campus performance of the Vagina Monologues after Eve Ensler came to speak on a panel.  The wonderful thing about the Vagina Monologues is you can make it as low or high maintenance as you want, and since law students are so busy, we made ours super low maintenance.

The most amazing part was spending time with faculty and fellow classmates in a non-academic and empowering setting.. and watching one of the crim pro professors perform “the woman who loved to make vaginas happy.”

This year’s performance is already in the works.. so if you are a chapter in the bay area, come support us on Thursday, February 25th at 6pm!

1.  tribute to opening of Olivier Henry V’s
1. historical reconstruction of performance of RJ and of frame
2. preliminary titles: two playhouses fighting--London 1593--War of the Theatres
3. camera pans thatched roof and cranes down through theatre--the little O that like the Globe contains the world
4. focus on playbill--story of Moneylender; sound of cries offscreen

hello sir i’ve always wondered how would be viewed by outsiders. i was worried that dr phil was going to sell the community out when the show first started, but our argument was presented very well in a positive light. i’ve always had this fear in the back of my mind that an ex would find out about me using pu and totally call me on it. now i don’t have to be so worried!

I agree with you David2010. It is not good to see if that is the kind of description.

I am happy to say that I was one of the very few people who had the chance to see “The Vagina Monologues” when it was performed at HERE Arts Center in 1996. It was written by Eve Ensler. In the beginning the number of people who attended the show was less. But soon it became immensely popular. Ensler was actively involved in its production in the beginning but soon she left the scene and was replaced by three actresses. I think a television version of it is also available now.

It is a really interesting blog and useful questions. I’ll use it in my term paper to attract more people.
