Read and Review: Before Roe v. Wade by Linda Greenhouse and Reva Siegel

Apply TODAY to be part of the LSRJ Book Review Committee! Deadline is August 16!

In collaboration with authors Linda Greenhouse, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who covered the Supreme Court for 30 years for The New York Times, and Reva Siegel, a renowned professor and former deputy dean at Yale Law School, Law Students for Reproductive Justice (LSRJ) presents this unique opportunity for law students to read and review their new book, Before Roe v. Wade: Voices that Shaped the Abortion Debate Before the Supreme Court’s Ruling (Kaplan 2010).

As part of the Book Review Committee, students will have the chance to provide feedback directly to the authors and help create tools to accompany the book, which will be used as an awareness-building and educational resource by students and advocates for years to come.

LSRJ seeks 25 law students from a diverse range of law schools who possess a demonstrated interest in and commitment to reproductive justice.

QUALIFICATIONS
• 2L or 3L in law school
• Familiarity with LSRJ programming and commitment to LSRJ mission and values
• Knowledge of reproductive rights law and justice, constitutional law and/or human rights
• Available to read the book and complete the survey by October 1; hold 1-2 conference calls with the authors in mid-October 2010.

APPLICATION
To apply, email Mariko at LSRJ.org with “Book Review Committee” in the subject line. Attach the following documents, bearing your last name in their titles:
(1) Letter of interest (2-page limit), stating: why you want to work on this committee; what perspective(s) or skills you bring to this committee; and what impact LSRJ has had on your law school experience and future career goals.
(2) Résumé, include current mailing address (so that we can send you the book!)
Deadline is 5:00pm PST on Monday, August 16, 2010.
